Appointed by Estate Management following a successful design competition, Ralph + Smith designed the new Whale Café housed within the David Attenborough Building.

Our proposal incorporated recycled and upcycled furniture pieces with an industrial nod, including partnering with sustainable manufacturers, which was integral to the brief.

We carefully selected products suitable for this public space required to accommodate café dining, student connectivity and interactive child/family friendly seating pods.
